Due to the venue's characteristics, the use of water, fire, natural materials, and hazardous materials is prohibited. However, we would like to exhibit as many works as possible. Please feel free to apply.

Q2: Are there any restrictions on genre?

In recent years, the range of expression has expanded with the rise of mixed media and other forms of expression, and genre classifications have also become more diverse. Please feel free to apply regardless of your genre.

Q3. Are only award-winning artists' works exhibited at the National Art Center, Tokyo?

You don't have to be an award-winning artist to exhibit your work. Please consider exhibiting at one of Japan's top museums. We look forward to your participation.

Q5 What is 410 Gallery Awrads?

As a prize for winning, you will be able to hold a solo exhibition at our partner gallery, 410Gallery (Fukuoka/Hakata). For details, please see the [410Gallery Awards] page on our website.

Q6. What works require layout?

A. Please attach the layout instructions to the entry form. For complex layouts, please either handle the layout yourself or arrange for exhibition staff.

Q7 Can I exhibit my work at other art exhibitions?

A: Of course you are welcome to participate. We hope you will enjoy the exhibition and art exchange, so please do join us.

Q8. What does it mean to have your work published on 410WebStore?

A. Your artwork will be featured for one year on "410WebStore.com," an online store operated by our partner gallery, 410Gallery. Since the online store is a platform accessible 24 hours a day to people all over the world, please take advantage of it.

Q9 What is an exhibition certificate?

We provide documentation certifying that the artwork has been exhibited at the museum. Please use this not only as a record of your own activities, but also for selling your artwork and for future projects.

The "Dynamic Contemporary Artists Exhibition" is an international exhibition bringing together a diverse range of artists from Japan and abroad. Held at venues such as the National Art Center, Tokyo and the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, it fosters creative encounters and exchanges that transcend generations and genres. It is also attracting attention as a place to discover new talent, regardless of whether they are professionals or amateurs, and to support their career advancement. It is truly a creative festival where you can experience "the present state of contemporary art."

TORAM, a spatial art space, is a creative crossroads where diverse forms of expression intersect. Artists from Japan and abroad gather here, and a wide variety of works, including paintings, sculptures, videos, and installations, resonate with one another. For artists, it's a place of challenge and growth; for visitors, it's an experience of "discovery," where they encounter new talent. TORAM offers an open space where you can not only "view" art, but also "feel, think, and connect" with it.

The National Art Center, Tokyo, opened in 2007 as the fifth facility belonging to the National Museum of Art, an independent administrative institution, with the mission of contributing to the creation of a new culture based on the perspective of mutual understanding and coexistence through art. Since then, instead of having its own collection, it has been operating as an art center where people can experience and learn about various forms of artistic expression and recognize diverse values. Specifically, it is engaged in holding diverse exhibitions utilizing one of the largest exhibition spaces in Japan (14,000 m²), collecting, publishing, and providing information and materials related to art, and implementing various educational and outreach programs.

Designer: Kisho Kurokawa

Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1934, Kisho Kurokawa graduated from the Department of Architecture at Kyoto University and went on to graduate school at the University of Tokyo, where he belonged to Kenzo Tange's laboratory. In 1960, at the age of 26, he proposed the architectural theory of "Metabolism" together with Kiyoshi Kikutake and others. In 1962, he established the Kisho Kurokawa Architect & Associates. His major works include the Nakagin Capsule Tower Building, the Saitama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, the Nagoya City Art Museum, the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, the Wakayama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art and Museum, the Fukui City Museum of Art, the Van Gogh Museum New Wing (Netherlands), and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Malaysia). He received numerous awards both in Japan and abroad, including the Architectural Institute of Japan Award, the Japan Art Academy Award, and the French Order of Arts and Letters. In 2006, he was selected as a Person of Cultural Merit. He died in October 2007 at the age of 73. The National Art Center, Tokyo is the last museum designed by Kisho Kurokawa to be completed during his lifetime.
