Commentary

This work, born from the fusion of photography and dyeing techniques, is striking for its composition that seems to breathe beyond the frame. Boldly placed motifs of grass, branches, and reptiles repeatedly draw the viewer's gaze into the depths of the image, possessing an irresistible allure that makes it difficult to look away. The artist cites "the feeling of cold air reaching the lungs the moment you take a deep breath on a winter morning" as the origin of their work. The way the branches extend and their delicate textures are reminiscent of the way the capillaries in the lungs expand, resonating with the image of life pulsating within the body. The entire image seems to visualize that moment when coldness and warmth, stillness and strength coexist simultaneously. The reality of the photograph and the fluctuations created by the dyeing resonate with each other, making the natural motifs rise not merely as landscapes, but as the very structure of life itself. This tension and presence make the work truly special.

Commentary

This breathtaking work beautifully combines the advanced techniques unique to plastering with the elegance of the motif. A single horse emerging from a gap in the clouds appears divine, as if a scene from mythology has been captured, and the light emanating from it brings a quiet tension and grandeur to the entire space.

The painstaking process of layering and carefully applying colored sand creates a definite presence and depth on the surface of the artwork, conveying the immense time and concentration that went into its creation.

The dynamism of the horse is captured as if it were about to leap into the sky and gallop away, and its bravery, nobility, and graceful beauty come together to deeply move the viewer. It was a highly accomplished work in which technique and sensibility were combined at a high level.
