■第12回躍動する現代作家展 at 国立新美術館

国立新美術館では毎年、約81の団体による美術公募展が開かれています。数多くの美術展が乱立する中でも、今を生きる現代アーティスト（現代作家）に焦点を当てた国際公募の美術展覧会が「躍動する現代作家展」です。
「アートは時代の鏡」とも言われていますが、現代では一言で「アート」と言っても、多種多様な表現があります。絵画及び平面作品、彫刻などの立体作品、写真表現、デザイン的表現、空間造形やインスタレーション、コンピュータグラフィックスCGやアニメーションなど、数え上げるとキリがありません。しかも、それらを分けて細かく分類することは難しくなってきており、むしろ全てが一緒になって混在していることが今の時代のアートではないでしょうか。この「躍動する現代作家展」は、まさにそんな今の時代を映し出す鏡のように、展示される表現主体はオールジャンルが一堂に会しています。これほどまでに様々な表現主体が一つの空間に集約され収まっている展覧会は、空間芸術TORAMの展覧会の大きな特徴といえます。絵画作品の隣に写真作品やデザイン表現の作品が展示されている、しかも、クオリティーが高く、どの作品も見応えがある。このことこそ、今の時代の多種多様さ、あらゆるものが混在した世の中を映し出した鏡であると言えるでしょう。
それがこの「躍動する現代作家展」が唯一無二の展覧会である所以であり、来館される方々が鑑賞して楽しい気持ちになる一因ではないかと思うのです。
今回で１２回目となるこの国際公募展は、北は北海道から南は沖縄まで日本全国から、また、韓国・中国・アメリカ出身といった世界各国からも多数の現代アーティストの作品が集結しています。これまでに、約1,200人以上の現代アーティストの作品をこの展覧会で紹介してきました。年齢層も10歳〜80歳代までと幅広く、プロとして華々しく活躍している現代作家も多数出品しており、アマチュアからプロに転向してもなおこの展覧会に出品する現代作家も数多くいます。自由な表現の作品をこの国立新美術館に展示することができるのは、現代作家にとってこの上ない舞台となるのではないでしょうか。

Every year, the National Art Center, Tokyo holds art exhibitions by approximately 81 organizations. Among the many art exhibitions that are popping up, the ``Dynamic Contemporary Artists Exhibition'' is an internationally open art exhibition that focuses on contemporary artists living today.

This ``Exhibition of Dynamic Contemporary Artists'' is like a mirror reflecting the current times, with all genres of expression brought together in one place. An exhibition that brings together so many different subjects of expression in one space can be said to be a major feature of spatial art TORAM exhibitions. Photographs and design works are displayed next to the paintings, and the quality is high and all the works are worth seeing. Now in its 12th year, this international public exhibition brings together the works of numerous contemporary artists from all over Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, as well as from around the world, including those from South Korea, China, and the United States. To date, this exhibition has featured the works of more than 1,200 contemporary artists. The age range is wide, ranging from 10 years old to 80 years old, and there are many contemporary artists who are brilliantly active as professionals, and there are also many contemporary artists who have turned from amateurs to professionals and still exhibit at this exhibition.
